Hisou Ningyou: Tragic Muppets walkthrough

Scroll over the text to see the answers to the puzzles. This guide will also explain how to get each of the endings.

MAIN GAME

To get out of the first room: Examine the bed, one of the windows, the closet, the dresser, the flower, and the box of tools in any order.

Guest room: This is the only other room that’s unlocked. Look in the dresser to find a key.

Memory Room 1: Touch the crystal. After the event, choose “I want to know” to obtain the Confessional Key.

Confessional: You can find the other three statues facing right in the main hall and in either second floor hallway. The two other statues facing left are in the dining room and the first floor left hallway.

Antiques Room: The missing teddy bear is in the room directly above this one, and you cannot carry the teddy bears out of this room. From left to right, the correct order of the teddy bears is: Pink, blue, black, brown.

Study: Agree to do the cat’s favor to obtain the books and the next key. You can get Aoi to comment on the books if you open them anywhere other than the book room.

Book Room: You have to stand facing the correct bookshelves and use the books from the Item screen to put them where they go. When you’re done, return to the study and speak to the cat to get a Memory Key.

Recall Room: Speak to all the animals to get the hints. To complete the room: Open the music box, rearrange the contents of the cutlery cabinet, take the red book from on top of the desk, blow out the candles, first examine the wine on the table and then get a bottle of wine from the cabinet in the dining room, and use the Storage Room key beside the music box to get the scissors from the Storage Room and use them to cut up the bed. Speak to the cat to get the Key of Truth.

Endings: There are seven endings to the main story—three bad endings, three normal endings, and one happy ending. None of the bad endings count as clearing the game.

Bad End 1: At the choice in the first Memory Room, choose “I don’t want to know.”

Bad End 2: After seeing the event in the Room of Truth, return to the Memory World and search Aoi’s jewelry box. Choose “take it”.

Bad End 3: After seeing the event in the Room of Truth, go to the main hallway and leave through the front door.

Normal End 1: Talk to Souma in the Room of Decisions without having obtained the Angel Feather and choose “life”.

Normal End 2: Talk to Souma in the Room of Decisions without having obtained the Angel Feather and choose “death”.

Normal End 3: Talk to Souma in the Room of Decisions with the Angel Feather in your inventory and choose “……”

Happy End: Talk to Souma in the Room of Decisions with the Angel Feather in your inventory and choose “I want to live”.

Getting the item necessary for Normal End 3/the Happy End: After seeing the event in the Room of Truth, follow these steps:

+ Go to the kitchen and search the spice rack to find an Empty Bottle. Go to the fourth Memory Room and examine the bucket. Choose to fill the bottle with water.
+ Go to the storage room and search the shelves to find the Matches.
+ Go to the book room and examine the clock to get the time.
+ Go to the clock in the second floor left hallway and enter the opposite of the time to obtain the Little Wooden Box. (Both “6:50” and “18:50” work for this puzzle.)
+ Go to the guest room. Light the fireplace with your matches, throw the Little Wooden Box into the fire, and use the Water Bottle to put the fire out. Search the ashes to get the Key of Wishes.
+ Go to the second floor right hallway and open the last locked door. Read the letter on the table.
+ After the cutscene, return to the Room of Truth and go to the Memory World. Examine Aoi’s bed to obtain the Angel Feather.

SOUMA ROUTE

To get into the Souma Route: After clearing the Happy End, go to the Extras Room and bother the cat until you get the option to play the secret story.

It is very easy to get turned around in this part of the game even though your objectives are very simple, and the conditions for the True End are also missable, so I’ll be listing the things you should be looking for. Some of the pieces will not appear until you have a certain number of others, so you may have to backtrack to rooms you have already examined.

Stage One: Examine the flower, Aoi in the art room, the piano, the mirror, and the teddy bear. The correct choice to clear the stage is “love”.

Stage Two: Examine the dinner plate, the mirror, Megumi, Aoi in the classroom, Aoi in the dressing room, and the crystal in the shrine. The correct choice to clear the stage is “longing”.

Stage Three: Examine Iida and Aoi in the library. Talk to the cat six times (until all it says is “Did she really have to worry?”). Examine Aoi in the bedroom, Megumi, Yuuta, Aoi in the same room as Megumi and Yuuta, and the angel girl in the forest. The correct choice to clear the stage is “worry”.

Souma Route Endings: There are two endings.

Normal Ending: Clear Stage Three without doing the piano event there.

True Ending: Obtain the handwritten sheet music in Stages One and Two, and put them on the piano in the Secret Room in Stage Three. Then clear the stage.

In order to find the items and do the event necessary for the true ending:

+ After finding all the pieces in Stage One, go back to the room with the piano and examine the sheet music on the floor to pick up the Handwritten Sheet Music.
+ After finding all the pieces in Stage Two, return to the room with the dinner plate and get Her Diary from on top of the desk. Place Her Diary on top of the conspicuous table in empty space, and then examine it to pick up the Handwritten Sheet Music.
+ After finding all the pieces in Stage Three, talk to Souma’s former foster parents in the Confessional and confess your worries at the altar. Next, enter Souma’s room and examine his desk for an event. Finally, use the Secret Key to get into the room that only has a piano inside and place the Handwritten Sheet Music on the piano to get the event.
